Fruehlingsfest

Fruehlingsfest is German for spring festival and is the name of Immanuel’s annual fair. Now in its 31st year, Fruehlingsfest gives everyone in the community a chance to enjoy the food, fun and fashion that has made the festival such a celebrated event on the Sunshine Coast calendar. A highlight of Fruehlingsfest 2011 was (there were 2 was) the auction of a block of land at Sunshine Cove, right in the heart of Maroochydore. Thank you to Sunshine Cove for their support in making the festival a day to remember.

Highlights of Fruehlingsfest include:

RIDES and ATTRACTIONS
• The Cobra, Dodgem cars, The Octopus, The Super sizzler,The Triple Screamer Slide, The Cup and saucer, laser skirmish, jumping castles, The Ferris Wheel, a rock climbing wall

AN INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL
• Curries, laksa and satays from MALAYSIA
• Pad Thai from THAILAND
• Okonomiyaki pancakes from JAPAN
• Bratwurst & bakery items from GERMANY 
• Paella and churros from SPAIN
• Pizza from ITALY
• Waffles from BELGIUM
• Classic gourmet rib fillet burgers from ENGLAND
• Nachos from MEXICO

HOME MADE FOOD
• An assortment of home made sweets and cakes and a German Kaffeehaus provide  a selection of German specialty biscuits and cakes.

MARKET STALLS
• A multitude of market stalls sell books, gifts-to-go, clothes, jewellery and art. In 2011, there was also a pamper tent for those who needed a little pampering. 

KIDS KORNER & SIDE SHOW ALLEY
Kids of all ages enjoy:

• Face painting
• Wak-a-Frog
• The Teddy & Friends stall
• Chocolate toss
• The fishing barrel/jar bar
• Crazy ball target

In 2011, the “Glee” themed  fashion parade was a big hit as was the live onstage entertainment.
