- Rationale
All students at Immanuel Lutheran College are required to wear the College uniform
[Preschool/Preparatory school children wear the sports uniform] but without mixing dress
and sports uniform items. Middle and Senior School students must wear the formal dress
uniform to and from school. During the cooler weather, all male students are expected to
wear the College tie, whilst all Senior School students are expected to wear the College
blazer. Senior students are measured for their blazers in Term I of Year 10.
- Dress Uniform
Girls Check dress worn just below the knee, plain white socks (covering the ankle)
or navy stockings for the cooler weather, jumper. Senior School girls are to
wear blazers. If cold, a jumper may be worn under the blazer.
Boys Check shirt, navy blue shorts or long grey trousers for cooler weather, navy
socks with shorts, grey socks with trousers, jumper and tie for cooler
weather. Senior School boys are to wear long grey trousers and ties with
their blazers. If cold, a jumper may also be worn under the blazer. (Junior school boys do not wear a tie or long grey trousers)
- School Bag
All students in Years Preparatory -12 require a regulation school bag displaying the
Immanuel crest. This is an optional item for Preschool students.
- Hats
Preschool/Preparatory School – Year 4: The College broad brimmed floppy hat with chinstrap
Years 5 – 12: The College broad brimmed hat
Years 4 – 12: Optional College cap for HPE and Sports lessons.
- Shoes
Dress Uniform: Black leather lace up school shoes.
Sports Uniform: Plain black or white sports shoes. Skate shoes, basketball boots or
sports shoes that are predominantly other colours will not be accepted.
- Sports Uniform
This is a unisex uniform of College sports shorts, the College sports shirt, College sports
socks and a House sports shirt. Junior School students may wear the sports uniform to
and from school on designated days. Middle and Senior School students change at
school into their sports uniform and are not permitted to wear it to and from school unless
on the day of the Sunshine Coast Independent Schools Sporting Association trial and
competition dates (SCISSA). Tracksuits are available in winter to wear with the sports
uniform for all year levels.
- Swimwear
Years 1-6: Navy swimmers
Years 4-12 All students who are chosen in the school team (including SCISSA
teams) are required to wear the Immanuel swimmers.
- Jewellery
Girls are permitted one stud or sleeper in each earlobe. A wristwatch is permitted. Medic
alert jewellery and a thin chain and cross may be worn (size and style to be negotiated
with the Year Level Manager/Head of Junior School). No other jewellery is to be worn.
- Hair
Boys’ hair must be above collar length and not hanging over the face. Girls with collar
length or longer hair need to have it tied back with accessories (gold, blue or school
check), which are available from the Uniform Shop. Dyed hair, shaved heads or other
styles that draw attention to individual students are not acceptable.
- Makeup
Students are not permitted to wear makeup or nail polish to school or during the school
day. Sunscreen protection is encouraged to be worn, but in lotion form only.
- Compliance
Uniform standards, and an acceptance by parents of these standards, are agreed upon at
the time of enrolment.
