Chaplaincy Support for Students

College Chaplain Gayla Mathews lends an ear, a helping hand and an open heart to our students. Gayla is available to the Immanuel community as a listener and as someone who can offer support and guidance in matters of life, heart and faith. Gayla facilitates Worship and devotional support from Prep to Year 12.

In the busy-ness of life, we can lose sight of God’s love for us, so one of Chaplain Gayla’s  greatest In the busy-ness of life, we can lose sight of God’s love for us, so one of Chaplain Gayla’s greatest pleasures is serving Christ through service to our community in tangible ways.

For example, Chaplain Gayla works with the Immanuel Lutheran College P&F and the wellbeing team on Food for Families. This community program provides meals for ILC families who may be suffering from illness or other distressing events. Service is also a priority at the Nambour Soup Kitchen, with which students are involved from Year 9, serving meals to the homeless here on the Sunshine Coast.
