Are you high school ready? We are.

To make the transition from primary to high school a positive one, many families are choosing to
enrol their children at Immanuel Lutheran College in Year 6. This helps children form friendships
before the start of high school and ensures a smoother academic transition.

From 2023, the College will introduce a fourth class in Year 6 and by 2024, five classes will be available in Year 7. This will meet the growing demand for places at Immanuel and will help children – and families – make the transition to secondary school.

So, why come to Immanuel for Year 6?

  • A sense of community and belonging

Immanuel is renowned for its pastoral care programs. By joining our College in Year 6, your child will have friendships well established before commencing Secondary School.

  • There is an extensive handover between Year 6 and Year 7

A seamless transition program takes place. We call it our Slice of Seven Day; there are also visits to the Secondary School and activities during Terms 3 and 4, including assemblies.

  • Students will become ‘Secondary School ready’ if they join Immanuel in Year 6

They will participate in weekly activities such as chapel with students in Years 7 and 8.

  • Immanuel offers a flexible learning model

This extends from Primary School to Secondary School; purpose-built flexible learning spaces and future focused learning environments that build on the approaches to learning used in the Primary School.

  • Immanuel has a future-focused curriculum

We teach critical and creative thinking, communication skills, collaboration skills and the ability to incorporate technology into everyday learning.
