Inspiring learning spaces at Immanuel Lutheran College

We encourage your child to engage in a plethora of experiences across all fields of academic and cocurricular life. Your child will not only discover 21st century maths, science and environmental learning spaces, but excellent arts and sporting facilities as well. We believe in a holistic approach to education, raising well-rounded and cultured adults, not just academic achievers.

STEM and business learning spaces

All children deserve the chance to flourish. We’ve taken a transformative approach to STEM learning compared to other schools on the Sunshine Coast. Our extensive refurbishment of Immanuel’s STEM and Design Innovation facilities introduces a revolutionary approach to STEM learning as we prepare children to become lifelong learners.

At Immanuel, your child will be encouraged to explore the curriculum, understand the real-world applications and to discuss the problems that they solve. To facilitate a better understanding of our curriculum, we’ve transformed the traditional classroom into a place of discussion, modelling, brainstorming and collaboration. This not only gives students a deeper understanding of the curriculum but encourages mathematical understanding amongst students who formerly would shy away from the subject. We believe all students should have the tools to be their best, so we’ve created bright spaces and better learning environments.

Environmental science at Immanuel

During their time at Immanuel, your child will learn that we are all stewards of the environment. Our children are inheriting a rapidly changing world and, as global citizens, we encourage students to become protectors of the natural environment.

Our world-class facilities include:

  • a sizable natural rainforest
  • a two-storey environmental centre with laboratories that access the rainforest
  • an onsite student-run recycling facility
  • a purpose-built eco-friendly waterway complete with beaches and waterpark for the study of water technologies and conservation
  • our Mt Binga campus in the town of Blackbutt
  • a comprehensive outdoor education program that operates from Years 2 to 12.

Performing arts facilities at Immanuel Lutheran College

At Immanuel, your child will know exactly how it feels to be in the spotlight. Our purpose-built theatre, dance studio and recording studio allows students to learn not just the craft of performance, but the technical industry that supports it. Our dedicated teaching staff take pride in nurturing each child’s artistic gifts, preparing them for a cultured and creative life ahead, should that be the pathway they choose.

Sporting facilities at Immanuel Lutheran College

Immanuel’s extensive grounds include two ovals, two swimming pools, an indoor stadium, two sets of outdoor playing courts – one floodlit – and a gym with weights and other equipment. Our commitment to nurturing all gifts has produced Olympians, World Champions and Australian Rules and Super Rugby legends. We believe that learning should be an adventure, and that all children should flourish. At Immanuel, all talents are developed because the whole person really is the whole point.

Visual arts facilities at Immanuel Lutheran College

Our bright, beautifully lit visual arts studios give your child the space to develop their creative talents. Your child will learn artistic techniques while preparing to be a part of the Sunshine Coast’s largest community arts event – the Immanuel Arts Festival. We believe in preparing young artists not only to develop their talents, but to understand and participate in the arts industry. Your child will work with exceptional teachers to develop a well-rounded portfolio and appreciation of the visual arts.

Christian worship at Immanuel

Immanuel Lutheran Church, set next door to the College, has a beautiful, contemporary design, and is set amongst a peaceful rainforest with views towards Mooloolaba Beach. This is where your child will attend chapel and assembly every week.

Student recreation spaces at Immanuel

Every child needs a place to belong. We’ve built our campus around giving children the opportunity to flourish. Immanuel Lutheran College offers a Christian education from pre-Prep (around two years of age) at the Immanuel Early Learning Centre, right through to Year 12. The College is divided into Early Learning, Primary School and Secondary School campuses.

Your child will have a safe, comfortable area to play in and mix with children of a similar age. They will have a healthy menu at our tuckshop, access to a first-rate library and IT devices. Primary and ELC students will access water play at our on-campus water parks and older students can join cocurricular clubs where they can develop interests in areas like robotics, construction, the environment or debating.
