We’re Expanding Mt Binga
We’re proud to announce a major new expansion of the Mt Binga Outdoor Education Centre. Immanuel Lutheran College has acquired the neighbouring property, unlocking incredible opportunities for the future of outdoor education in Queensland. More space means more adventure, more real-world learning, and more moments that shape young people for life — all within the wonder of God’s creation.
This is just the beginning.
Learning Without Limits
The expansion is part of Immanuel’s bold Strategic Vision to “Expand Your World.” It’s not just about more land, but more opportunity, more innovation, and more impact. We’re growing with intention, staying true to what makes Mt Binga so special — a place where students encounter God through nature, community, and challenge.
WHAT THIS MEANS:
We know that time in nature improves mental health and nurtures the soul. With more land to explore, students can rest, reflect, and reconnect — with themselves, with others, and with God. It’s a space that fosters mindfulness, resilience, and a deep sense of purpose.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The new space will allow for more immersive outdoor programs and offer even richer experiences. Students will build real-life skills through challenge, reflection, and teamwork in an environment that supports deeper learning and spiritual growth.
Where Ideas Take Root
This land will become a working, outdoor classroom where students explore environmental science, sustainability, Indigenous knowledge, bushcraft, and STEM through hands-on inquiry — discovering the intricacy and beauty of God’s design in the world around them.
Grounded in Place and Purpose
We are committed to preserving the natural beauty, ecology, and cultural significance of this space. As we grow, we do so with respect, gratitude, and care — honouring the land, the First Nations people who have stewarded it for generations, and the Creator who made it.
Built for Belonging
The expansion opens the door for new partnerships with Lutheran schools, environmental organisations, and values-aligned community groups. We’re excited to explore collaborative projects that create meaningful experiences for students and reflect our shared calling to serve and steward God’s world.
